<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! Things have been crazy as always and I've neglected my poor blog. Just wanted to share a little ATC project with you today. These were made for a swap in <a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank">Fancy Paper Crafters</a>. The swap theme was Spring ATCs. I love all the flowers and butterflies that come out in spring so naturally, this is what I was going to do for my ATC.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3oSHIkBGBGs/U17uS0vjMNI/AAAAAAAAAsE/cjOrGCWRPhA/s1600/Spring+ATC+Swap.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3oSHIkBGBGs/U17uS0vjMNI/AAAAAAAAAsE/cjOrGCWRPhA/s1600/Spring+ATC+Swap.jpg" height="173" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With the designer paper that I chose, I had so many color options! I looked through my cardstock to see what I had in my stash (I'm on a mission to use my stash rather buy anything!) that would match and came up with this coral/pinky color. I used a Stampin Up punch for the butterfly. The flower center is a simple jeweled brad by Recollections. The jewels on the butterfly are by Nicole's Design (I think!). I couldn't find my flower punches so I used my spellbinder dies and embossed them. Pretty easy peasy right :). Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a crafty day!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! Sharing a scrapbook page with ya today (thought it would be good to mix up this blog a little instead of always doing cards!). When my oldest niece, Alex, graduated high school, I made a HUGE scrapbook of her life (birth to graduation). Well, I had so much fun with it and saw how much happiness it brought to her, I decided to do the same for my nephew, Austin, who graduated in the summer of 2013. This is one of my favorite layouts from his completed album.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AFRgR615qUc/Uwl4aJZ_pKI/AAAAAAAAArk/gxVBJZjv1Jo/s1600/Austin+and+Alex.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AFRgR615qUc/Uwl4aJZ_pKI/AAAAAAAAArk/gxVBJZjv1Jo/s1600/Austin+and+Alex.jpg" height="395" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The completed album had right around 40 pages total. This was a challenge for me as I wasn't used to scrapbooking "boy" themed pages (we only have dogs and they've all been female). I wanted to use only one picture on this scrapbook page as I felt the photo deserved to be the sole focus on the page. I don't remember the name of the designer paper I used but I know all the cardstock is by Bazzill. I used my printer to type up the journaling (my handwriting is terrible so I always print when possible). I dug through my button stash to find the blues and whites for this layout. Such a sweet moment between these two (luckily they are still close to this day!). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by my little piece of craftiness today. Hope you're able to take some time and get crafty!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! Back at ya today with a few quilled cards that I'll be teaching at AC Moore on Saturday, February 22. I would love to be able to share with you how I made these cards but that wouldn't be fair for those folks that paid for the class :). Hopefully I'll see you in one of my classes! If you have any questions at all, just ask!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MuNfvxj11vY/UwA-WB3yX7I/AAAAAAAAArI/wwRw8Gop_Oo/s1600/Quilled+Daisy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MuNfvxj11vY/UwA-WB3yX7I/AAAAAAAAArI/wwRw8Gop_Oo/s1600/Quilled+Daisy.jpg" height="341" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iMO2ogkzNKc/UwA-V5gysFI/AAAAAAAAArE/QKUHYGJUtB8/s1600/Quilled+Owl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iMO2ogkzNKc/UwA-V5gysFI/AAAAAAAAArE/QKUHYGJUtB8/s1600/Quilled+Owl.jpg" height="400" width="325" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I can tell you that the designer paper in the cards is by Crate Paper and is part of their "The Pier" collection. The cardstock is all by Bazzill and is the heavy weight card shoppe paper line. The pearl embellishments are by Nicole Crafts and come in a wide variety of sizes and colors (and they are way cheaper that the Prima pearls). The twin is by Queen and Company (I just love those little packages of twine - especially since they're only $1!!).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Challenge yourself to give quilling a try. It's one of those hobbies that doesn't require a ton of "stuff" :). Happy crafting!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello! The snow sure is pretty outside! I've had about enough of being stuck in this house though. Heading back to work tomorrow - it is going to be rough after being closed for the past 2 days. At least it's Friday and it's a long weekend thanks to the holiday on Monday :).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, since I haven't been able to go anywhere, I've spent loads of time in my craft room using some of my newest goodies. The project that I'm sharing today features <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/shimmer-sheetz" target="_blank">Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft Designs</a>. I also used the die cuts <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/dies/products/love-1" target="_blank">Love</a> and <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/dies/products/thank-you" target="_blank">Thank You</a> by Elizabeth Craft Designs. Without further ado, here is the project for today:</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Cardstock for card base and card layers (all by Bazzill) - Cotton Candy card base, Robins Egg card layer and Marshmellow used as an insert to the card</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Little Yellow Bicycle Heart Stick Pins</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Butterfly Punch by Stampin Up! - Punched out of the </span><a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/shimmer-sheetz/products/blue-iris-3-pack" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" target="_blank">Blue Iris</a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Shimmer Sheetz</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Turquoise flat back pearl</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Turquoise seed beads for embellishing butterfly</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- White Sheer Ribbon</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Tweezers</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Glue Dots</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Glossy Accents (or other clear drying glue)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Once you gather all of your supplies and cut all of your cardstock, you're ready to assemble your card! Starting in the middle of the scrap piece of cardstock (yes, you will have to measure to find the exact center), line up one edge of one of the triangle shaped shimmer sheetz and adhere to the cardstock. The "fat" end of the triangle should be at the top and you will have "over hang" on both top and bottom of the cardstock. All 8 of your triangles should fit snuggly on this cardstock (be careful not to use the same pattern next to one another). Once you've got all the pieces adhered to it, flip it over and trim the shimmer sheetz to line up with the edge of the cardstock. This creates the "sun ray" effect for your card front.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Next, adhere your sun ray piece to your Robins Egg cardstock. Take the sheer ribbon and wrap it around the cardstock tying a knot just under your sun ray (if you're good with bows - have at it! I cannot seem to master the technique of tying one of those cute little bows lol). Next step, take the 2 flowers and adhere them just next to your knot. Adhere the flat back pearl into the center of the flower (I used glue dots to hold the flower and pearl down). I tucked my hat pins in behind the flower and stuck it through the knot. Don't forget to use the plastic protector on your hat pins as you don't want to prick your finger (ouch!). Punch your butterfly out of the Blue Iris shimmer sheetz. Crease around the body of the butterfly so you'll have somewhere to put the seed beads (this also makes it much easier to adhere to your card as it gives you a flat surface to put your adhesive on the back of the butterfly. I used Glossy Accents to stick the seed beads on their side (be careful with these little boogers as they will fly away!). I then used my die cut sentiments and cut them out of the velvet adhesive paper. I LOVE the velvet paper as it gives just the right amount of fanciness to a card without going over board (plus, I don't have to try to fight to put glue on the back of it as it comes on adhesive paper - woop woop!). Once I had the whole card front completed and my glue was dry, I adhered it to the cardbase.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And your done! That wasn't too painful was it? I hope you'll try your hand at creating your own sun ray card. Maybe if we all create one, the sun will actually make an appearance for a little while :).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Until next time peeps - happy crafting!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey peeps! We sure are enjoying the snow (at least 6 inches so far)! Being stuck in the house for now, I've been going through pictures and found some projects that I haven't shared yet! I found this gem in my Christmas Card stash. This card was designed by my fabulous friend, Mary Anne Magliaro. She offers a Christmas Card Club through Stampin Up that allows us to get our cards done throughout the year. Lots of cutting was involved but it was so worth the effort!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gWDLf4QRgFo/Uvwla4Dfb7I/AAAAAAAAAqg/erAedJM9ayc/s1600/ECD+Christmas+Card+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gWDLf4QRgFo/Uvwla4Dfb7I/AAAAAAAAAqg/erAedJM9ayc/s1600/ECD+Christmas+Card+2013.jpg" height="341" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, the basics of this card are pretty easy. We used the Grand Merry Christmas die cut by <a href="http://memoryboxco.com/product_detail.asp?id=98680" target="_blank">Memory Box</a>. The cardstock is by Stampin Up although I'm not certain the names of the colors we used (they were a bright pink and white). The flowers were actually stickers sold by Elizabeth Craft Designs and are the <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/peeloff/products/daisies-poinsettia-with-doodles" target="_blank">Daisies and Poinsettias with Doodles</a> design. These stickers are so easy to use and there are so many options to choose from! We took the stickers and using the <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/transfer-sheet" target="_blank">transfer sheets</a> placed them carefully on sticky paper (we used the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Scor-tape-Double-sided-Adhesive-Width-Yards/dp/B00FARV8NG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392257062&sr=8-2&keywords=sookwang+tape" target="_blank">double sided scor-tape</a> by by Scor-Pal). Then, we dipped the whole thing in the <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/silk-microfine-glitter/products/warm-diamond-silk-microfine-glitter" target="_blank">Warm Diamond Microfine Glitter</a> by Elizabeth Craft Designs. You have to rub your fingers over this glitter to get it to "set" into the tape. It is the ONLY glitter that I will use as it stays where it is supposed to stay and doesn't get everywhere like other glitter. I then took my Copic Markers and colored the whole thing in. This glitter works PERFECTLY with copic markers (and it does NOT ruin your marker tips as long as you keep a light pressure when coloring). After I got them colored, I took my <a href="http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/collections/tools/products/scissors-spring-action" target="_blank">Fine Pointed Scissors</a> (also by Elizabeth Craft Designs) and cut it out. Yes, it took forever but look how pretty it came out?!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Well, that's my project for today. Next year I will definitely get my Christmas Cards in the mail!! LOL Hope you all stay safe in the snow. Now is the perfect time to do some crafting!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! Back at ya today with some cards I recently made for a class at my local AC Moore. This class was in January and we had such a great time! This was a beginning card class so there isn't a ton of techniques in these. Hope you like them!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I think my fav is the Happy Birthday card using the sunburst technique. I've seen so many of these lately and wanted to try my hand at making one. Thanks for stopping by today :). Have a crafty day!</span></div>

We swap stuff each month so check it out when ya get a chance!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I just love how these two cards turned out. After trying various designs, this is what the final product is:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qhA6heyIc9A/Uuna7TG0XlI/AAAAAAAAApc/GMCVyawOxcc/s1600/Swap+-+Christmas+Card+November+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qhA6heyIc9A/Uuna7TG0XlI/AAAAAAAAApc/GMCVyawOxcc/s1600/Swap+-+Christmas+Card+November+2013.jpg" height="320" width="227" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o6AcXLnjoRk/UunbCMLeRZI/AAAAAAAAApk/FGAEkdHpq58/s1600/Swap+-+Fall+Card+October+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o6AcXLnjoRk/UunbCMLeRZI/AAAAAAAAApk/FGAEkdHpq58/s1600/Swap+-+Fall+Card+October+2013.jpg" height="320" width="270" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So one of the things I usually do on my cards is ink the edges of white paper. I use a cut up yellow sponge (one of the circle sponges) which really lets the ink go on nicely. The flowers in the Fall card started out white and I just took some Tim Holtz distress ink and colored them to match my paper - I LOVE making my own custom colored things!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by my little piece of craftiness :). Have a craftastic day!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey peeps!! Back at ya with another one of my recent projects. These were made for a class I'm teaching at <a href="http://easyascatsoup.com/" target="_blank">Easy As Cat Soup</a> on February 8. I am in LOVE with quilling and am very excited about this class! Unfortunately, because this is a paying class, I can't share with you exactly how I made the cards but I can give you just a few tips :).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Patience - like all new hobbies, it takes patience to learn what to do and feel comfortable with it. If you don't have any stores in your area to take quilling classes, You Tube is a wonderful thing. I will say though that there is something about seeing it done "in person" that makes it so much easier!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Practice - you know the old saying "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"? Well, with quilling, this is sooooo important! This is not something you're going to be an expert at your first time. You have to work through the techniques to develop your skills.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Lastly, take the time and design yourself a <a href="http://allthatscrapforme.blogspot.com/2012/04/step-up-quilling-class.html" target="_blank">quilling chart</a>. You can include as many shapes as you want (mine is fairly basic). Just make sure that each shape you do, you use the same length paper strip so you know how small each shape comes out with the same length paper. Having the chart in front of you will help you in learning how other things are designed when you find patterns you like.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, without further ado, here are the cards you'll learn how to make in this class:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by today! I have a few quilled cards to share with you today. I had the pleasure of teaching another class at my local AC Moore store and these were the cards I showed them today. I can't share the specific details of how these were made as there was a fee for the class (and that wouldn't be fair to those who paid for it). I can give you some tips though when trying to make these at home :).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For this one, the best piece of advice I have for you is to design your flowers first before glueing the pieces down. This will ensure that the flowers lay down how you want them to rather than be "stuck" and then out of shape (thus causing you to hate your project).</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9jpsYsvm6u8/Un8YklWRM_I/AAAAAAAAAoY/qN_arxXeyjM/s1600/Quilled+Candle+Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9jpsYsvm6u8/Un8YklWRM_I/AAAAAAAAAoY/qN_arxXeyjM/s400/Quilled+Candle+Card.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For this one, be patient and practice, practice, practice! To get the bells "even", try various sizes of paper and pick your favorite size. Make notes as to what sizes your using as you go along so that when you find "the perfect fit", you'll know exactly what size you were working with.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zhTTeNEYzg8/Un8Ylzyi-EI/AAAAAAAAAog/tLrooknUXfk/s1600/Quilled+Christmas+Bells.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zhTTeNEYzg8/Un8Ylzyi-EI/AAAAAAAAAog/tLrooknUXfk/s400/Quilled+Christmas+Bells.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">While doing this one, you find you have more space in the center than 4 tight yellow circles will cover, simply make more yellow tight yellow circles! Keeping an even number will help with the uniformity of the project.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5s_qUwpxuNQ/Un8YmeRxd_I/AAAAAAAAAok/akQx3n67Pls/s1600/Quilled+Flower+Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5s_qUwpxuNQ/Un8YmeRxd_I/AAAAAAAAAok/akQx3n67Pls/s400/Quilled+Flower+Card.jpg" width="332" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I hope you've enjoyed these projects today. If you're ever interested in a quilling class, keep your eye on the class calendar for AC Moore as I teach one about every 3 months. Happy crafting!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again!! Back at ya today with yet another black, white and red project. I've been on this color combo kick for a while now (in case you haven't noticed lol). This is an older project that I just found in my picture archives and realized that I never shared it :). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0bETXBY_PMY/UhVzMMLx1eI/AAAAAAAAAoA/DSmueGLGBYA/s1600/Stamped+Flower+Card.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0bETXBY_PMY/UhVzMMLx1eI/AAAAAAAAAoA/DSmueGLGBYA/s400/Stamped+Flower+Card.JPG" width="327" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This was a really simple card to make. All of the cardstock is smooth cardstock from Stampin' Up. The bling is by Bazzill. The flowers came plain white (by Prima) and I simply stamped over them with a script stamp using red ink (the picture makes them look off white but they're really white). There's also some twine stuck in the back of the flower to give it a little umph. The white cardstock was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. On the black cardstock, I used a Fiskars border punch.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Put it all together and the card is done! Easy peasy right?! Just a quick project for ya - thanks for stopping by! Do something crafty today :).</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! Yes, I realize it's no longer July :) .... I still wanted to share this card that I made for the Christmas in July Card Swap at </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. I can't wait for Christmas!! I think it's wintertime that I'm ultimately longing for lol. The years that I'm actually put together enough to send out Christmas cards, I send out handmade cards. Some of my friends suggested we start our cards early this year and I jumped at the chance.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I found the triple layer stamping technique on </span><a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/triplestamping/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Split Coast Stampers</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> and knew I had to try it out! Once I had my idea, I needed some design inspiration. What better place to turn than Pinterest (can you tell I'm addicted)?!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been on a kick lately of using black, red and white. However, I knew I didn't want to use black on this Christmas Card but liked the idea of sticking with the red and white. I found this gorgeous card on the </span><a href="http://particraft.blogspot.com/2011/07/card-and-pics-of-workshop.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">PartiCraft</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> blog (from Pinterest). She didn't provide directions but since I found a simliar technique on SCS, I thought I'd be okay.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, here's what I came up with:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v97kz6iFoDI/UgmdbAp8w8I/AAAAAAAAAnw/K4dgm5nrkn8/s1600/Christmas+Card+-+Layered+Stamping.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v97kz6iFoDI/UgmdbAp8w8I/AAAAAAAAAnw/K4dgm5nrkn8/s400/Christmas+Card+-+Layered+Stamping.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It was actually not to difficult to make, just a lot of little steps. The cardstock is by Stampin Up!. The little pearls are by K & Company. The snowflake stamp is by Hero Arts. The ornament itself is one of the heirloom ornaments by Spellbinders. The embossing folder was also by Stampin Up! I tried using a simliar embossing folder by Darice but found that it did not work well on thick heavy weight cardstock at all. It actually tore the paper when embossed - if you have any suggestions, feel free to share :).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The technique itself was done by lightly adhering the 3 layers of paper together (you could certainly use more if you wanted) and then stamping directly on the layers. I also embossed the snowflakes to make them pop more. I used pop up dots between the layers to give it some dimension. When doing a a multi-layered card like this, I've found that it works best for me to approach in an assembly line fashion (I had to make 8 of these for the swap). I get all the parts ready before assembling which makes it much easier to put it all together.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by today!! Until next time, happy crafting!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! So I have 3 coworkers that are having babies. Of course, I had to figure out something handmade to make! Someone else was already doing a diaper cake so I knew I had to go a different route. So, off to Pinterest I went!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I searched for general "diaper" projects and came across several ideas for diaper wreaths and decided to give it a try. It was much easier than I thought it would have been and was able to get all three done in just one evening. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">The supplies were pretty minimal: a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_sabc?url=search-alias%3Dgarden&pageMinusResults=1&suo=1376256497784#/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dgarden&field-keywords=wire%20wreath%20form&sprefix=wire+wre%2Cgarden&rh=i%3Agarden%2Ck%3Awire%20wreath%20form" target="_blank">wire wreath form</a> for the base, diapers (how many depends on your wreath size and diaper size), ribbon to match the color scheme you're going for and decorations/embellishments.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I used an 18" wire wreath form. If I choose to do this project again, I'll use something smaller, probably a 13" wreath. I think it would look better. Also, I might try using a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/FloraCraft-Straw-Wreaths-12-Inch-Wreath/dp/B000XZU4VW/ref=sr_1_2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1376256647&sr=1-2&keywords=wreath+form" target="_blank">straw wreath form</a> to allow the diapers to be fuller and not quite as flat around the wreath.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Once you have that worked out, you'll want to choose the type of diapers to use. For these wreaths, I used size 2 diapers by Luvs. Since we don't have children, I had no idea diapers came in such a wide variety! I asked a friend, and she suggested Luvs. Standing in the diaper aisle at Target, I went through all the brands seeing what the pictures looked like on the diaper. I'm sure the Target employee thought I was crazy LOL. I was trying to get "boy" themed diapers and "girl" themed diapers. Well, price wise, it was going to cost a good bit more to do this so I opted to stick with one brand. In case you didn't know, the Luvs brand come with a purple design with a monkey on the front so it worked great for either gender.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Now to figure out what you want to use to "connect" the diapers to your wreaths. I opted for ribbon. You can also choose twine, jute or any other type of string to tie the diapers to the wreath. I tried to coordinate my ribbon with the themes the ladies were using in their babies room. I chose to use two different ribbons and alternated as I went around the wreath. I'm horrible at tying bows so I went with a very simple knot and clipped the ends of the ribbon on a slant. The trick is to get your knot tied as close as possible to the wreath and tight enough where the diaper doesn't slide around (but not too tight as you'll damage the wreath and won't be able to see the monkey on the diaper). For this size wreath, I used 26 diapers on each wreath. This easily covered up all the wire wreath form. You could use more if you wanted them more tightly packed on there. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Next up, you'll need to decide what type of embellishments or decorations you want to use on your wreath. Since the diapers I chose already had a design, I didnt want to over do it and make the wreath look like a baby store threw up all over it ;). I found a 5 pack of onesies while at Target and rolled them up and attached them using a sheer ribbon (make sure you tie them tight or they'll slip off easily). Other items you could use would be light weight toys, mini bottles, wash cloths or burp cloths. Whatever you choose, just make sure they're light enough to be held on with ribbon. I also chose to add the babies initials to the wreaths. I found simple white letters at my local craft store and just added a bit of ribbon, bling and buttons. I would have painted it but didn't have an appropriate paint for them (I tried acrylic and it rubbed right off (sanding them didn't work either and I was pressed for time so I just left them white)). They blend in on the wreath but the intention is for the parents to take the wreath apart and use the diapers, onesies and keep the the initials if they'd like.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I think that about sums up how I did these wreaths. So, without further ado, here are the 2 boy wreaths and 1 girl wreath.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Tomorrow is hump day! (are you say "hump day" like they say in the commercial? LOL). I have a quick project to share with you today. I made these for an acetate swap at </span><a href="http://www.fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. They were really quite simple! I don't have all the paper details as I used stuff from my stash (it was basic cardstock and I have no idea about the designer paper - sorry!). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I'm in love with these butterflies!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L0miS4lT_n4/UgHE_HAfKzI/AAAAAAAAAms/MdS6KjW4roo/s1600/Acetate+Butterfly+Card+Pic+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L0miS4lT_n4/UgHE_HAfKzI/AAAAAAAAAms/MdS6KjW4roo/s320/Acetate+Butterfly+Card+Pic+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I think it's the sparkly nature that has me dazzled lol. To make these pretties, I took a piece of Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft Designs and embossed it with my Cuttlebug folder. I used my new Stampin Up! butterfly punch and punched out a bunch of these. The layers of paper on the front and inside were made using Spellbinders (those things are so convenient!). As much as I love my Cricut, sometimes I don't feel like dragging it out just to cut out some squares. The stamped image on front was also by Stampin Up! and had a coordinating stamp set (also another very convenient thing to have!). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aI1zKLOezpA/UgHFEOsS8uI/AAAAAAAAAm8/KjplDXfV8Cs/s1600/Acetate+Butterfly+Card+Pic+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aI1zKLOezpA/UgHFEOsS8uI/AAAAAAAAAm8/KjplDXfV8Cs/s320/Acetate+Butterfly+Card+Pic+3.jpg" width="293" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Pretty easy project today. The finished card measured 3x3 which is the perfect little card to give along with a gift card (or to hang from a gift bag). Thanks for stopping by my little crafting world! Until next time, happy crafting!</span></div>
angelafsprousehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288585415965364499noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400639772570134778.post-25813721692277936712013-07-06T22:09:00.000-04:002013-07-06T22:09:43.347-04:00Fancy Folding!<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! I have a fun project to share with you today. This card was for a swap at </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> and the theme was "fancy folded cards". I scrap lifted the idea from </span><a href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/centerstepcard/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">this</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers. I just love the tutorials they have over there! However, for mine, I wanted it to fit in a standard size envelope as I didn't feel like making my own. So, I altered the tutorial to make my finished card the standard A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). This card is called a Center Step Card since it has a small step in the center. So, without further ado, here's what I came up with:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f6xqsvbdN6c/UdjF512cTBI/AAAAAAAAAmY/-9_AZg6yR-4/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f6xqsvbdN6c/UdjF512cTBI/AAAAAAAAAmY/-9_AZg6yR-4/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+6.jpg" width="317" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Want to know how I did it? It is really quite simple if you just take your time and get everything planned out. Here's a list of the product I used:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Bazzill Cardstock: Juicy Pear</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Papertrey Ink Cardstock: Raspberry Fizz</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Generic Brown Cardstock</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Generic White Cardstock</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- American Crafts Designer Paper: Amplified-Rock Opera</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Stampin Up Ink: Melon Mambo</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Stampin Up Markers: Melon Mambo & Chocolate Chip</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Stampin Up Bitty Butterfly Punch</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Stampin Up Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Here's the skinny on how I put this card together. Start off by cutting down your card base to the size of 4 1/4" x 11" (I took one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper and just cut it in half). Once you have that cut, use your trimmer to cut a slit on each side, 1" in on each side from the 1" mark to the 6 1/2" mark. Here's what that looks like:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ulhFY_K1Sk0/UdjF4THGhqI/AAAAAAAAAmE/tSmi4YCo9gk/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ulhFY_K1Sk0/UdjF4THGhqI/AAAAAAAAAmE/tSmi4YCo9gk/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+1.jpg" width="255" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="justify" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Next step, you want to put your score lines in your paper where your card folds. This is especially important if you're using "good" paper like Bazzill or Coredination as without score marks, your paper could tear when it is creased. Score on both the left and right sides of the center piece at 1", 2" and 6 1/2". You will also score at 5 1/2" but only on the center piece. This score line will create the "step" in your card. Here's what that looks like (hope you can see the score lines well enough):</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xjz1OUGyCP8/UdjF4WLkUSI/AAAAAAAAAl8/P7pwaL5t2QQ/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xjz1OUGyCP8/UdjF4WLkUSI/AAAAAAAAAl8/P7pwaL5t2QQ/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+2.jpg" width="186" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="justify" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Next, crease all of your scored lines. This step should not be skipped as this will really help keep your card upright and not falling open. The 1" score line is a mountain, the 2" score line is a valley, the 5 1/2" score line is a mountain and the 6 1/2" score line is also a mountain. Here's what your card should look like at this point:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9Z1m8jfhDKY/UdjF4s7mGLI/AAAAAAAAAmI/KhkiI9rFQ1g/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9Z1m8jfhDKY/UdjF4s7mGLI/AAAAAAAAAmI/KhkiI9rFQ1g/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+3.jpg" width="342" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now, it's just a matter of layering all of your pieces on your card front and inside. Here's all my pieces laid out that I used (sorry for the blurry picture - I was trying to dodge the light reflection and didn't realize the picture was blurry):</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l7WKNPuDIG0/UdjF5qksu6I/AAAAAAAAAmc/e6yZdEUCwL0/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l7WKNPuDIG0/UdjF5qksu6I/AAAAAAAAAmc/e6yZdEUCwL0/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On the inside of the card, I layered a piece of designer paper (cut 4 1/8" x 4 3/8"), a piece of brown cardstock (cut 4" x 4 1/4") and a piece of white cardstock (cut 3 7/8" x 4 1/8"). I'm big into layering so feel free to skip out on all the different layers if you don't like it. On the white, I took my sponge and inked around the edges with Melon Mambo. The little butterflies were punched out with my Butterfly punch and then embossed with a dotted Cuttlebug embossing folder. Here's what the completed inside looks like:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r1SIflp5NKM/UdjF5SzveEI/AAAAAAAAAmU/D-vX09OYNrk/s1600/Center+Step+Card+Pic+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r1SIflp5NKM/UdjF5SzveEI/AAAAAAAAAmU/D-vX09OYNrk/s400/Center+Step+Card+Pic+5.jpg" width="371" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="justify" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now for the measurements for the top layers on the card. The pieces on the left and right are layered with pink cardstock (cut 7/8" x 4 3/8") and designer paper (cut 3/4" x 4 1/4"). The bottom piece is layered with pink cardstock (cut 4 1/8" x 7/8") and designer paper (cut 4" x 3/4"). I used a piece of sheer pink ribbon about 8" long. I did try a bow but I can never get those made to look right and opted for the knot :). The center pieces are layered with designer paper (cut 2 1/8" x 4 3/8"), pink cardstock (cut 2" x 4 1/4") and white cardstock (cut 1 7/8" x 4 1/8"). I sponged ink on the edges of this white cardstock as well.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I searched through my stamps until I found this perfect stamp set (Serene Silhouettes by Stampin Up). This little guy fit perfectly on this cardstock! I tried a different technique that one of my friends, Mary Anne Magliaro, taught at one of her fabulous Stampin Up classes. I took my Stampin Up markers (Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip) and actually colored my stamp two get the two different colors in one stamp. This was so easy and came out really nice! Just be sure to "huff" on your stamp after you have the whole thing colored to make the "ink" wet again before you stamp.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Well, that's it folks! Not too hard, just takes some pre-planning and cutting a bunch of cardstock (I had to make 7 of these!). Thanks for stopping by today! Have a craftastic day!</span></div>
angelafsprousehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288585415965364499noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400639772570134778.post-78521976531236552922013-06-29T17:37:00.000-04:002013-06-29T17:37:09.710-04:00No More Bare Frames!<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I had the pleasure of doing a demonstration today at AC Moore working with Vinyl Transfers and Wooden Frames. To do this project, here's what you'll need:</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Wooden Frame</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Vinyl Transfers of your choosing</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Acrylic Paint of your choosing</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Paint Brush</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Something for you to put paint on (like a paper plate or plastic tray)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Popsicle Stick, Bone Folder or other item to rub your vinyl on your project</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Scissor or Xacto Knife for trimming</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I forgot to take pictures of the roll before I used it but will do my best to describe it. The vinyl transfer sheets come on a roll about 12" x 18". The Nicole Crafts vinyl comes with the vinyl pattern and the transfer sheet all in one package (made it super easy to use!!). Here's what the frames look with nothing done to them:</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TouZ43ZPTAU/Uc9O6Oq0UaI/AAAAAAAAAlQ/MVQLskZHmpE/s1600/Rectangle+Wooden+Frame+Bare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2YLrmqs1RD4/Uc9O54uxGJI/AAAAAAAAAlY/aVS2fGt3430/s1600/Oval+Wooden+Frame+Bare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2YLrmqs1RD4/Uc9O54uxGJI/AAAAAAAAAlY/aVS2fGt3430/s320/Oval+Wooden+Frame+Bare.jpg" width="284" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TouZ43ZPTAU/Uc9O6Oq0UaI/AAAAAAAAAlQ/MVQLskZHmpE/s1600/Rectangle+Wooden+Frame+Bare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TouZ43ZPTAU/Uc9O6Oq0UaI/AAAAAAAAAlQ/MVQLskZHmpE/s320/Rectangle+Wooden+Frame+Bare.jpg" width="264" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The frames come with "thingies" (yes, that is what they're called when I don't know the official name lol) on the back where you can hang them up on the wall with ease. After you unwrap the frames, just go over the whole thing with your hand to wipe off any tiny wood pieces that may be hanging around. For both of these, I started by applying two coats of the acrylic paint. You need to let the paint dry about 30 minutes to an hour between coats. Once the paint is completely dry, now it's time for fun with vinyl! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Take the vinyl sheet off of the roll. Peel the transfer paper that has the vinyl attached off of the backing paper (save this paper as you can reuse it for the pieces of vinyl you don't use). Apply the vinyl to your project. Be careful that you get all the vinyl securely adhered to your project (check all the edges too!). Any pieces hanging over in the middle and the edges are just trimmed away.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For the yellow frame, once you have the vinyl down, trim around the edges and you're good to go. I found that it was easiest to use an xacto knife to go around the edges of the frames where the vinyl hung over and just trim it off. I did try scissors as well but found it cumbersome to deal with the transfer paper and scissors at the same time.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uuXy7vnfkd8/Uc9O5zGHs3I/AAAAAAAAAlU/fPF1d7TUCAE/s1600/Oval+Wooden+Frame+Decorated.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uuXy7vnfkd8/Uc9O5zGHs3I/AAAAAAAAAlU/fPF1d7TUCAE/s320/Oval+Wooden+Frame+Decorated.jpg" width="285" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For the teal/black frame, once I had the first two coats of teal painted, I applied the vinyl to the frame. When taking off the transfer paper, be sure the vinyl sticks snuggly around the edges! This is a very important step so don't skip it. I then painted over the top with two coats of black. Once the black was dry, I simply peeled off the vinyl pieces leaving the really cool pattern in teal!</span></div>
</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ouDN8kOYneA/Uc9O6x_x3eI/AAAAAAAAAlo/CCz4EUBKqk0/s1600/Rectangle+Wooden+Frame+Decorated.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ouDN8kOYneA/Uc9O6x_x3eI/AAAAAAAAAlo/CCz4EUBKqk0/s320/Rectangle+Wooden+Frame+Decorated.jpg" width="269" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Well, that's it for today! Hope you enjoyed this little project. These make really great gifts and are so easy to customize to your liking!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! I wanted to share with you a special project I did for a demo at AC Moore recently. The demo was showcasing the Gallery Glass paints by </span><a href="http://www.plaidonline.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Plaid Online</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. This was definitely outside of my comfort zone as I have had no experience with this product. Fortunately, I was given great directions by the corporate office so I had very little trouble putting this together :). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I started out with a template underneath a blank Leading Page. You can snag templates off of the internet as virtually any image can be traced. I simply traced the template with the Leading Paint and ended up with this. If you have trouble keeping the bottle squeezed while you trace, try using both hands (this also helps if you're shaky):</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UACNKFlgyJ8/UYcm_6hdXjI/AAAAAAAAAj8/1hbG3JmTIV4/s1600/Mom+Block+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="263" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UACNKFlgyJ8/UYcm_6hdXjI/AAAAAAAAAj8/1hbG3JmTIV4/s320/Mom+Block+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Move it out of the way so that it doesn't get touched while drying. Once that dried (give it at least 24 hours), I took my other paint colors and filled in each section.</span> </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AjQ4LNX-7ts/UYcnAVd7IMI/AAAAAAAAAkA/l6HAkBW_CkY/s1600/Mom+Block+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AjQ4LNX-7ts/UYcnAVd7IMI/AAAAAAAAAkA/l6HAkBW_CkY/s320/Mom+Block+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9d0nwrgS_5E/UYcnBNfX1EI/AAAAAAAAAkI/XM6Iole9DbQ/s1600/Mom+Block+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9d0nwrgS_5E/UYcnBNfX1EI/AAAAAAAAAkI/XM6Iole9DbQ/s320/Mom+Block+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JcKl2guSuEg/UYcnBxFDVTI/AAAAAAAAAkU/1rKo-eRx8GY/s1600/Mom+Block+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JcKl2guSuEg/UYcnBxFDVTI/AAAAAAAAAkU/1rKo-eRx8GY/s320/Mom+Block+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's important to make sure the paint touches the edges of the leading paint. If it doesn't touch, when you peel it off of the leading blank, the piece will not come off in one section. Also, you need to eliminate any air bubbles that come out of the bottle of paint (try using a tooth pick or pin to pop the bubbles). The more often you release the pressure on the bottle, the more often you're going to have bubbles.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You also want a decent layer of paint so that you will not have splotches when it dries. The thicker you lay the paint on, the longer it needs to dry (I did learn a lesson on this tip as I failed to let it dry long enough and I had bits of paint stay stuck to the leading blank but I was crunched for time and wasn't able to continue to wait for it). Seriously, let this thing sit and dry for at least 48 hours. Once it is all the way dry, it peels off the leading blank relatively easily (slow and steady wins the race!). After you peel it off, stick it to whatever project you have! This is how my block turned out:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uLSUjV_kgZU/UYcnCLcexgI/AAAAAAAAAkY/Xd9ky3KGTtY/s1600/Mom+Block+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uLSUjV_kgZU/UYcnCLcexgI/AAAAAAAAAkY/Xd9ky3KGTtY/s320/Mom+Block+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">There are countless things you could fill this with as it has a wide opening at the top - lights, flowers, sand, marbles, easter grass and so much more! This would be such a cute project for kids to do and I bet Mom would really enjoy having a handmade gift this year! I know my mom likes my stuff :).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Hope you've enjoyed this little demo. Happy crafting everyone and a big Happy Mother's Day to all those special mom's out there (most certainly mine!)!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello! Want to see something super cute? Well, you've stopped at the right blog today. This little card was made for a swap at </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. The theme was "Animal Cards" and when I ran across this cute little stamp, I knew I had to use it!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ULxW9jTM9s/UYcbXzE4nXI/AAAAAAAAAjY/6u7luGsAFjc/s1600/Swaps+-+Animal+Card+-+March+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ULxW9jTM9s/UYcbXzE4nXI/AAAAAAAAAjY/6u7luGsAFjc/s320/Swaps+-+Animal+Card+-+March+2013.jpg" width="268" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here's what ya need to complete this card (it's really quite simple):</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2PkpDkROBIM/UYceDshpnxI/AAAAAAAAAjk/-VzMKpP0lw0/s1600/Swaps+-+Animal+Card+Supples+-+March+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2PkpDkROBIM/UYceDshpnxI/AAAAAAAAAjk/-VzMKpP0lw0/s320/Swaps+-+Animal+Card+Supples+-+March+2013.jpg" width="288" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9gHozjIdq7k/UYceQRamrtI/AAAAAAAAAjs/vqj9tHtXOFs/s1600/Swap+-+Animal+Card+Copics+-+March+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9gHozjIdq7k/UYceQRamrtI/AAAAAAAAAjs/vqj9tHtXOFs/s320/Swap+-+Animal+Card+Copics+-+March+2013.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Supplies:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Cardstock (my patterned paper was from Basic Grey)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Embossing Folder (I used a daisy one from Darice)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Stamped Image (I believe this little guy was by Stampendous)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Copic Markers (love!!)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">- Embellishments (ribbon and bling on a roll)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Once you have all your supplies gathered, it's really just a matter of putting everything together. I used my Copic Markers to color in my image (no shading really due to the small stamp). One little trick I do for my layers is to measure everything. So, if my card base is measured 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (it's the standard A2 card size), then I cut my first layer on my card an 1/8 of an inch smaller and then my second layer another 1/8 of an inch smaller. As long as my cuts are straight, my card layers are nice and straight! I did the same thing with the matting for stamped image (I'm a numbers person so measuring works well for me - I'm not fortunate enough to be able to "eyeball" things).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by :). Have a crafty day!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Howdy folks! Back at ya today with some of my recent quilled cards. These are also inspired by things I found online (</span><a href="http://pinterest.com/angelasprouse/quilling/"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">http://pinterest.com/angelasprouse/quilling/</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">). I am thrilled that this art has come back around. I started many years ago and tucked everything away and went a different direction. About two years ago, it made a reappearance so I pulled everything back out and started working on it again. So, here's what I've come up with recently (these were made for another class at AC Moore):</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2BRr8kKYkX8/UYcRtDaoL_I/AAAAAAAAAi4/LKxrxcQoJ8I/s1600/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Crazy+Flower+Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2BRr8kKYkX8/UYcRtDaoL_I/AAAAAAAAAi4/LKxrxcQoJ8I/s320/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Crazy+Flower+Card.jpg" width="259" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EUID_VI-tmU/UYcRtZmOc_I/AAAAAAAAAi8/cj8ha8M15Xw/s1600/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Flower+Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EUID_VI-tmU/UYcRtZmOc_I/AAAAAAAAAi8/cj8ha8M15Xw/s320/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Flower+Card.jpg" width="271" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7tl_VWvxOPQ/UYcRtqoaN2I/AAAAAAAAAjE/M6mDw-9UmE8/s1600/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Husking+Leaves.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7tl_VWvxOPQ/UYcRtqoaN2I/AAAAAAAAAjE/M6mDw-9UmE8/s320/Quilling+Class+-+050413+-+Husking+Leaves.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My crafty friends will tell you that I've been on a black/white/red kick lately. I think it's going on 6 months now and I don't really see an end in site lol. The one on the bottom was a new technique for me (I think it's called husking but am not certain). Admittedly, it was much harder to get the feel of than regular quilling. I probably tried 5 or 6 different sizes and techniques before it finally clicked and I got it. Thanks for stopping by my little crafty world today. I hope you all have a fantastic day!</span></div>
angelafsprousehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288585415965364499noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400639772570134778.post-37875401052787309482013-05-05T22:06:00.000-04:002013-05-05T22:07:15.944-04:00Taggin' It!<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again my friends! I don't know what has gotten in to me! For those of you that know me, know I have a thing about getting messy. This is one of the reasons I will very rarely ever use glitter or "alter" anything. I just can't do it! Well, I got this hair brained idea that I should teach a Tim Holtz inspired tag class at my local AC Moore store (5/11/13 @ 1:00). I seriously have no idea what came over me when those words came out of my mouth LOL!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, as I sat in my craft room trying to come up with ideas, I am not ashamed to admit that I had a little bit of anxiety ;). Like any wise crafter would do now a days, I turned to pinterest to see if I could find any good ideas. I started my own "tag" board if you're at all interested in what I found: </span><a href="http://pinterest.com/angelasprouse/tag-youre-it/"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">http://pinterest.com/angelasprouse/tag-youre-it/</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. Without further ado, I'm pleased to share with you my very first Tim Holtz inspired tags (please be kind lol).</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Unfortunately, I can't share with you how I did all of these as that wouldn't be fair to those folks paying for this class. I am very excited to be teaching this class though and surprisingly made it calmly through getting my fingers all inked up!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Until next time ... happy crafting folks!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Howdy folks! I hope you all had a very Happy Easter! Do you have a favorite Easter tradition? Growing up, the Easter Bunny always visited our house and gave us a small basket of goodies. My parents had a tradition of building small nests in the yard (out of grass) and putting a few plastic Easter eggs in the nest. The Easter Bunny would fill them up with goodies (or money!) every year. Building those nests in the yard will be a tradition that we will pass down to our kids for sure. Isn't funny how you remember the little things like that?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyway, I'm back at ya today with a little card I created for Shannon White's sketch blog challenge for this month. Show her some blogging love and visit her site here: </span><a href="http://scraplady324.blogspot.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">http://scraplady324.blogspot.com/</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. She's had some really great sketches for us to play with and I've really enjoyed challenging myself to follow them. She allows us to vary from the sketch but I'm more of a "rule follower" and like to stick with what I'm given LOL - anyone else like that? Here's her sketch for this month:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_cC1ik8fEto/UVZI1OISOyI/AAAAAAAAAhQ/jxfc8PYiKJ8/s1600/April2013_sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_cC1ik8fEto/UVZI1OISOyI/AAAAAAAAAhQ/jxfc8PYiKJ8/s320/April2013_sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I really wish my craft room was in better order so I could have done this as a scrapbook layout. This sketch would have made a really neat scrapbook page but I can't find half my stuff in the black hole that is my room. One day I'll actually get everything cleaned and organized and be able to get back to scrapping again. Anyway, I went with making a card this month. Here's what I came up with:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DP7EntlgUZ8/UVZI1doONZI/AAAAAAAAAhY/xue8usFwS2k/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DP7EntlgUZ8/UVZI1doONZI/AAAAAAAAAhY/xue8usFwS2k/s320/photo.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The details are pretty basic with this little card. The cardstock (red and pink) are both by Coredination. The patterned paper came from a paper stack by Basic Gray called True Love. I love anything Basic Gray!! The paper flowers and button are from my stash and I have no idea the brand names lol. The stamped images are by Fiskars and are part of the Floral Flair stamp set. I used Stampin Up! ink (Blushing Bride and Old Olive). Pretty simple right?!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This card was made for the grandmother of a very dear friend of mine. We call her "Nanny" and she always welcomed me into her home! She is a very special lady and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, the doctors are optimistic with her treatment and I hope this brightens her day just a little.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by my little crafty world today. Until next time ... do something crafty!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello folks! Easter wouldn't be complete without a little craftiness :). My mom needed a new wreath for her door to celebrate Easter/Spring. Since Deco Mesh has become so wildly popular, I suggested we make one using springy colors. So, to come up with an idea, I naturally turned to Pinterest (don't ya just LOVE Pinterest?!). I found this fabulous </span><a href="http://misskopykat.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-make-curly-deco-mesh-wreath.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">blog post</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> on how to make a Curly/Spiral Deco Mesh Wreath. This is what we came up with:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A3pndtoy2u8/UVhAJJWgxvI/AAAAAAAAAhw/HSp10TWDapI/s1600/Deco+Mesh+Easter+Wreath.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A3pndtoy2u8/UVhAJJWgxvI/AAAAAAAAAhw/HSp10TWDapI/s320/Deco+Mesh+Easter+Wreath.jpg" width="316" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Isn't it pretty?! She picked out 5 different colors to use in her wreath. Head on over to the blog link above for specific directions on how to make it. The only thing we changed was that we used a grapevine wreath instead of the wire form (we couldn't find the wire form in stock). It didn't take very long to make at all. It turns out to be about 3 feet all around so it's a pretty big wreath but looks great on your front door. And, since it's made out of mesh, it'll last several years!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Well, that's it for today's little project. Thanks for stopping by and have a happy easter!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hey y'all! Bringing you a little project today that I worked on at PMS Night (stands for Pizza, Munchies, Stamping/Scrapping) about a week ago. These little rinchies (which are round inchies) were made for the March swaps over at the </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/forum/topics/march-2013-swaps" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> online craft group. If you've never participated in swaps before, check out the group as we do monthly swaps and have some really great gals participating. Anyway, here are my rinchies for this swap this month:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LSXLnHUNysc/UVZRAjvK6jI/AAAAAAAAAhg/lekxAyIDpjE/s1600/photo2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LSXLnHUNysc/UVZRAjvK6jI/AAAAAAAAAhg/lekxAyIDpjE/s320/photo2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For this project, all supplies came from Stampin Up!. If you need a rep, contact Mary Anne Magliaro (</span><a href="http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampinmaryanne/"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampinmaryanne/</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">). She is one awesome lady and has shared many fabulous projects with us. These stamps and punches are one of my newest purchases. I was hesitant at first due to their tiny size but they really worked out fabulous for this project. I had to make 9 sets of these little boogers which took FOREVER! I wanted to make two that were more feminine and two more masculine. I think they really turned out neat :).</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The process of putting these together was really quite simple. I punched out all my circle layers (used a 1 inch circle punch, a 7/8 inch scalloped punch and then a 3/4 inch circle punch). I stamped (using the </span><a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=126262" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Lovely Little Labels</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> set). This set has a coordinating set of punches called </span><a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=126881" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Little Labels Punch Pack</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. For the ink, I believe I used Melon Mambo and Early Espresso. I took a small sponge and inked around the edges of a couple of the little punches. That's about it for this little project. I'm excited to see what everyone else came up with. I really enjoy making inchies/rinchies. These little guys are perfect to use in making a quick card or just a little something to embellish a scrapbook page.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time ... happy crafting!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again!! Thanks for stopping by my little crafty world :). I bring you my first post in what is going to be a series of posts about organizing my craft room. It is honestly a disaster zone and I have no idea how long this is going to take me. At the same time, I will be moving to a bigger room that I will be outfitting with some nifty storage solutions. Stay tuned for more on the progress of that project ...</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, today's post is about my tool bag. Unfortunately, I got the notion to blog about this AFTER I had already emptied out my whole bag. So, here's my tool bag empty (it has been loved for many years so it looks a little beat up lol). It has a little drawer on the bottom that you can't see from this view.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2PbZJw9kgdo/UUegs9E3J3I/AAAAAAAAAgg/Q55wyqud7Eo/s1600/Tool+Bag+-+Empty.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="219" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2PbZJw9kgdo/UUegs9E3J3I/AAAAAAAAAgg/Q55wyqud7Eo/s320/Tool+Bag+-+Empty.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So this bag doesn't really look all that big but boy does it hold a TON of stuff!! Believe it or not, everything showing in this picture was in this one bag!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EQy100m2mr0/UUegvxZ3NfI/AAAAAAAAAgs/dBbKqjCgt78/s1600/Tool+Bag+-+Contents.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="217" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EQy100m2mr0/UUegvxZ3NfI/AAAAAAAAAgs/dBbKqjCgt78/s320/Tool+Bag+-+Contents.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I found stuff that I hadn't used/seen in years so it was kind of like Christmas morning LOL (I know I'm not the only crafter this happens to!). So, the way I tackled this mess was to sort things into three piles ... 1 pile of the things I use frequently, 1 pile of things I use on occasion and finally a pile of the remaining items. The frequently used items went back in the first. I kept things grouped together (all adhesive on the same side, ink pads together, scissors together, etc. I went through the other two piles and pulled out the things that I thought I would really use on a regular basis (at this point, you really have to be honest with yourself and realize that you really don't need it all LOL). Everything that didn't "make the cut" went into a tool bin in my craft room.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is what the new and improved bag looks like. It's so much easier to find things and it weighs soooo much less! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SRbv6MgK15s/UUegx7veVpI/AAAAAAAAAg0/-jYmDGMYOrE/s1600/Tool+Bag+-+Repacked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SRbv6MgK15s/UUegx7veVpI/AAAAAAAAAg0/-jYmDGMYOrE/s320/Tool+Bag+-+Repacked.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now let's see how long I keep this neat and tidy LOL .... Until next time, happy crafting!</span></div>
angelafsprousehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08288585415965364499noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2400639772570134778.post-41985938986127356872013-02-27T19:00:00.000-05:002013-02-27T19:00:00.809-05:00Wonderful Waterfall Cards<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello again! Welcome back to my little piece of crafty goodness. Today I'm sharing with you a waterfall card that I made for the January swaps at </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.ning.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. This is one of the projects I completed at the Polar Express Retreat in January sponsored by Creative Memories. The swaps for this month had to have some type of "action" to them (like a moving part or pop up). When I started searching for ideas, I ran across one of these that I did several years ago and thought it'd be perfect for this project. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">I started out with the following supplies (measurements are in inches):</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Red Cardbase - Cut 4 1/4 x 11 (scored at 5 1/2)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Vanilla Cardstock - Cut 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (this is the first layer on the card)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Designer Paper - Cut 4 x 5 1/4 (this is the second layer on the card)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Red Cardstock for Moving Strip - Cut 2 x 8 1/2 (scored at 1 3/4, 2 3/4, and 3 3/4)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Vanilla Cardstock to go on the Moving Strip to write your message - Cut 4 5/8 x 1 7/8</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Small Scrap to use as your Pull Tab</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Pink Cardstock for Small Squares Base - Cut 2 x 2</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Vanilla Cardstock for Stamped Images - Cut 1 7/8 x 1 7/8</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Small Red Cardstock for Front Strip - Cut 4 1/4 x 1 (you might need to cut this one taller depending upon the border punch you're using)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Designer Paper for Front Strip - Cut 4 1/4 x 1/2</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Stamps (Mine were from Stampin' Up!)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Ink (Also from Stampin' Up!)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">- Brads (2 small and one large)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HgPKbwgOVCY/USwx1jhn2RI/AAAAAAAAAfc/wpR7oBk-FFM/s1600/Waterfall+Card+-+Supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HgPKbwgOVCY/USwx1jhn2RI/AAAAAAAAAfc/wpR7oBk-FFM/s320/Waterfall+Card+-+Supplies.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now that you have all the supplies assembled, you're ready to start working on piecing everything together. I started with my stamped images. I had to make sure the images I selected actually fit properly on these little squares (I never knew how many Valentine's stamps I had until I had to find the "perfect sized" ones for this project LOL). I inked around the edges of these little guys to give them a little pop of color and then matted them onto the pink cardstock. Once I had those done, I started with the card top. I layered the Designer Cardstock on top of the Vanilla Cardstock. Then, I anchored the strip to the lower portion of the cardtop using the small brads (just make sure you leave enough room in the center between your brads for your moving strip). Once I had that in place, I took the long strip of red cardstock and put adhesive on the end of it (the end that was scored at 1 3/4). This end adheres to the small strip you just anchored to the cardtop. This is what it should look like at this point:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G2e63_qGOXI/USwzpxL3YfI/AAAAAAAAAfo/OgSqR17buq4/s1600/Waterfall+Card+-+Top.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G2e63_qGOXI/USwzpxL3YfI/AAAAAAAAAfo/OgSqR17buq4/s320/Waterfall+Card+-+Top.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Next, place adhesive on the top of each of the small squares and adhere them to the moving strip. Then, you'll adhere the little vanilla piece on the base of the moving strip to allow yourself a little spot to write a message. You can see it peeking out of the bottom here:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1eM2uFB5_OE/USw0olRnHEI/AAAAAAAAAf4/K9v5welb5ww/s1600/Waterfall+Card+-+Completed+Top.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1eM2uFB5_OE/USw0olRnHEI/AAAAAAAAAf4/K9v5welb5ww/s320/Waterfall+Card+-+Completed+Top.jpg" width="258" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">At this point, you can go ahead and add your little pull tab as well as your large brad. Just make sure that everything moves properly and doesn't get caught on the anchoring strip (the strip with the boarder punch). You're pretty much finished at this point. Here's how it looks from the side when you pull on the tab of the card (kinda neat huh?):</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vvwhLkyZPII/USw0qvM7xWI/AAAAAAAAAgA/LdMK1axxUkc/s1600/Waterfall+Card+-+Side+View.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="146" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vvwhLkyZPII/USw0qvM7xWI/AAAAAAAAAgA/LdMK1axxUkc/s320/Waterfall+Card+-+Side+View.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I ended up making 7 of these total. I probably wouldn't choose such an in depth card next time as it took quite a bit of time. I'm really happy though with how the final card turned out. Whatcha think?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time ... have a super crafty day!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Howdy y'all! Back at ya today with one of my recent crafty projects. I made this card for the February swaps at </span><a href="http://fancypapercrafters.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fancy Paper Crafters</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FBVrb6YuqF4/USv_P1o_xbI/AAAAAAAAAfI/cB1JsvSMZnE/s1600/Thank+You+Card+Cropped+022013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="254" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FBVrb6YuqF4/USv_P1o_xbI/AAAAAAAAAfI/cB1JsvSMZnE/s320/Thank+You+Card+Cropped+022013.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As much as I would like to say this was my own original idea, this time around, I found this on Pinterest. The original link it tied back to was bad but I did end up finding it on </span><a href="http://itsastampthing-vicki.blogspot.com/2011/04/sc327thank-you.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's A Stamp Thing blog</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">. I love "lifting" ideas from other crafters, especially when I'm in a slump and can't seem to come up with anything I'm happy with. One important thing when lifting someone's idea is to always give them credit! It may be a common knowledge idea but it's always best to link back to where you found it :).</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now, let me hop off my soapbox and get to telling you about this card! It's really quite simple. The cardstock was from AC Moore and came in a value pack of black and white. Since, black, white and red is one of my favorite color combinations, I knew I had to have the value pack. The background was done using a cuttlebug embossing folder (I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it lol). The stamps are by Stampin' Up! and is part of the Just Believe set. The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye and is part of the Meadowlark paper line. I also used ink by Stampin Up! (I think Classic Black and Real Red). The little flowers were punched out using one of the new mini punches by Stampin' Up! The pearls are by Recollections. Lastly, the twine is by Doodlebug (I'm officially addicted to twine!).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Well, that wraps up today's creation. Wishing you all a very crafty day! Until next time ...</span></div>
