Technique Series: Embossing Folders

So, one of my very favorite things right now are the embossing folders by Cuttlebug, Sizzix and QuicKutz. They are wonderful at adding just a bit of pizzaz while keeping it quick and easy. So, I thought it would be neat to play with an embossing folder at one of my card classes I teach at a local scrapbook store, Scrapnesia.

I have tons of these little folders and it was hard choosing the perfect one for this project. I've been using these little fleur de lises on several other projects so I decided to stick with this theme. The original intent with this project was going to be to use paint on the embossed piece of paper and then use my sanding block and alcohol inks to antique the piece of paper. However, I learned a very valuable lesson on my first attempt. Kaisercraft Acrylic Paint and Ranger Alcohol Inks do not play nice together!! My tube of paint was pink and my ink was brown.
