A big "Hey Y'all!" from South Carolina

Hey y'all! Comin' at ya today with a recent custom order that was placed by a new client. A request was made to produce a South Carolina themed card. This was such a fun project as I've never done a state specific card before. I did some research as to how the state of South Carolina is represented. I'm not from this state originally so I'm a little behind when it comes to the history of this great state. So, as I was looking around the web, I kept coming across the Palmetto Tree with the Moon. I did find this as an SVG file and was planning on cutting it out on my cricut using Sure Cuts A Lot. However, when I did a search on my Gypsy for South Carolina, it turned out that I already had everything I needed!


So, the details of this little guy are a bit in depth. The cardstock base and all the mats are from American Crafts. The striped designer paper is by Quick Quotes. The polka dot paper is part of the Blips and Bleeps line by TPC Studio. The South Carolina themed die cuts are from the 50 States Cricut Cartridge. The big banner is from one of the Creative Memories cartridges. The border punch is by Martha Stewart. The buttons and ribbon are random from my stash of goodies.

So, I must admit that I did have some inspiration for this project (by the way, I LOVE pinterest!!). I wish I could say I came up with this pattern all on my own but I will give credit to where I found it. Hello again! Things have been crazy as always and I've neglected my poor blog. Just wanted to share a little ATC project with you today. These were made for a swap in Fancy Paper Crafters . The swap theme was Spring ATCs. I love all the flowers and butterflies that come out in spring so naturally, this is what I was going to do for my ATC. With the designer paper that I chose, I had so many color options! I looked through my cardstock to see what I had in my stash (I'm on a mission to use my stash rather buy anything!) that would match and came up with this coral/pinky color. I used a Stampin Up punch for the butterfly. The flower center is a simple jeweled brad by Recollections. The jewels on the butterfly are by Nicole's Design (I think!). I couldn't find my flower punches so I used my spellbinder dies and embossed them. Pretty easy peasy right :). Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a crafty day!

Scrapbooking Project

Hey y'all! Sharing a scrapbook page with ya today (thought it would be good to mix up this blog a little instead of always doing cards!). When my oldest niece, Alex, graduated high school, I made a HUGE scrapbook of her life (birth to graduation). Well, I had so much fun with it and saw how much happiness it brought to her, I decided to do the same for my nephew, Austin, who graduated in the summer of 2013. This is one of my favorite layouts from his completed album. The completed album had right around 40 pages total. This was a challenge for me as I wasn't used to scrapbooking "boy" themed pages (we only have dogs and they've all been female). I wanted to use only one picture on this scrapbook page as I felt the photo deserved to be the sole focus on the page.
